Organic Recycling Systems Ltd. (ORSL) has announced that it has officially formalised its empanelment as an execution partner with Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) for the joint development of Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India.

The formalisation was marked by the exchange of non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, held in Goa on January 28, 2026. The MoU exchange and empanelment ceremony took place in the presence of Praveen Mal Khanooja, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Kamal Kishore Chatiwal, Managing Director, IGL and Mohit Bhatia, Director – Commercial, IGL, along with other senior executives, delegates, and representatives from national oil companies and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

The formal empanelment and MoU exchange provide ORSL with a strong institutional framework to actively originate, structure, and execute CBG projects in collaboration with IGL. This strategic partnership is expected to significantly strengthen ORSL's national project pipeline and accelerate project development across multiple feedstocks and geographies, the company stated.

Commenting on the development, Sarang Bhand, Managing Director, ORSL, said, “We are honoured to partner with Indraprastha Gas Ltd. through this empanelment and MoU exchange at India Energy Week 2026. This strategic alliance provides a powerful platform to accelerate our national project pipeline. By collaborating with a premier PSU like IGL, ORSL is creating a clear pathway for sustained revenue growth and long-term expansion in the Bio-CNG sector.”

Pankaj Tanwar, CEO – Bioenergy, ORSL, added, “The formalisation of our partnership with IGL marks a major milestone in ORSL's execution strategy. It enables us to advance a strong pipeline of projects across diverse feedstocks such as Napier grass, paddy straw and organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW). This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver large-scale projects efficiently and reinforces ORSL's position as a trusted technology and EPC partner in India's bioenergy ecosystem.”

ORSL is currently engaging with project sponsors and stakeholders to advance a portfolio of near-term opportunities. Project prioritisation is being undertaken based on key commercial and execution parameters, including feedstock security, land and infrastructure readiness, and overall project viability, with the objective of fast-tracking projects from development to implementation, the company stated.
