Juniper Green Energy has received an upgrade in its credit ratings from ICRA, with its long-term rating upgraded to [ICRA]AA- (Stable) from [ICRA]A+ (Positive) and its short-term rating upgraded to [ICRA]A1+ from [ICRA]A1.
The upgrade marks a significant strengthening of Juniper Green Energy’s credit profile and provides independent validation of the company's financial resilience, expanding scale, execution track record and ability to deliver long-term growth in India’s rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.
ICRA’s rating action comes as Juniper Green Energy continues to build a large-scale, diversified renewable energy platform across solar, wind, hybrid, Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company has consistently demonstrated its ability to translate its contracted portfolio into operating assets through disciplined execution, while simultaneously expanding its development pipeline and strengthening its presence across India’s clean energy landscape.
Commenting on the rating upgrade, Parag Agrawal, Whole-time Director and CFO, Juniper Green Energy, said, “The upgrade of Juniper Green Energy’s credit rating to [ICRA]AA- (Stable), along with the upgrade of our short-term rating to [ICRA]A1+, is a significant milestone for the company. This reinforces the strength of our business model and the foundation we have built for long-term growth. Our growth has been anchored in disciplined capital deployment, strong project execution, and a portfolio designed for the evolving needs of India’s power sector. As we scale our renewable energy platform and increasingly integrate solar, wind and battery storage, this stronger credit profile positions us well to pursue the next phase of growth with greater financial flexibility and confidence.”
The upgraded rating is expected to further strengthen Juniper Green Energy’s ability to access capital efficiently, deepen relationships with financial institutions and support the next phase of its ambitious growth strategy. As renewable energy projects become increasingly capital-intensive and technologically sophisticated, a stronger credit profile provides an important strategic advantage in scaling investments across generation, storage and integrated clean energy solutions.
