ICC Invites Organisations to Apply for Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards 2021

With the aim to reward companies engaged in sustainable practices and policies, and encourage others to do the same, the Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards, by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), are back with its 2nd edition.

With the aim to reward companies engaged in sustainable practices and policies, and encourage others to do the same, the Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards, by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), are back with its 2nd edition.
 
The Indian Chamber of Commerce is one of the most proactive industry associations in the country today, working towards a growth-oriented model for all the key driving sectors of the economy.
 
This year, the Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards will be evaluated by Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a Super Energy Service Company in India.
 
It will include an eminent jury panel like Saurabh Kumar, Energy Expert; SP Garnaik- Executive Director (Lighting), EESL; Gireesh Pradhan, Former Chairman, CERC; Neerja Mathur, Former Chairperson, CEA; KS Popli- Former Chairman and Managing Director, IREDA; Dr. Winfried Damm, Director, Indo-German Energy Program; Ashvini Kumar- Former Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd and Former Senior Director, Renewable Energy Technologies Division, TERI.

Commenting on the occasion, Anil Razdan, Chair, ICC National Expert Committee on Energy and Water, and Former Secretary Power, GOI, said, “The development of Renewable Energy and Storage accompanied by Energy Efficiency can lead India towards sustainable development. The country has to work towards developing these technologies indigenously for maximising the benefits to the economy. The ICC would like to be in the forefront of the development and promotion of these technologies.”
 
The Green Urja and Energy Efficiency awards aim to create a platform for highlighting transparent innovative and sustainable practices, policies and performances, in order to inspire and motivate others to adopt the same. It will acknowledge and reward companies in the following categories:
  • Companies in Power Distribution
  • Power Producers (including captive power producers)
  • Manufacturers of Solar/Wind Energy Components and Systems
  • Institutions that finance Renewable Energy projects (including Manufacturing and Storage)
Keeping in view that the scale-up of Renewable Energy capacities differ across regions, the award will be considered in the following 3 clusters:
  • Front-runner States: cumulative RE capacities installed exceeding 1000MW
  • Emerging States: cumulative RE capacities installed between 100MW and 1000MW
  • Smaller states & UTs: cumulative installed RE capacities less than 100MW
