Integrated Batteries India (IB Solar) has announced plans to invest INR 3,000 crore in a 4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved the allotment of 25 acres in Sector 8 for the project.
Located near the upcoming Noida International Airport and along the Yamuna Expressway, the site offers strategic advantages for logistics and supply chain efficiency, providing IB Solar a competitive edge in domestic and international markets. The facility is set for commissioning by 2027.
The project is part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader push to attract large-scale investments and transform the Noida–Jewar region into a hub for manufacturing and clean energy. The facility has been designated an 'ultra mega project,' reflecting its investment scale of INR 3,000 crore.
Once operational, the 4 GW plant will strengthen India’s solar manufacturing self-reliance, reduce import dependence, and generate substantial employment opportunities in the region. The initiative adds momentum to renewable energy and industrial investments along the Yamuna Expressway corridor, highlighting the strategic role of the Jewar airport in shaping Uttar Pradesh’s industrial future.
It may be mentioned that in July, SAEL Solar P6 Pvt Ltd. received clearance to set up a plant on 200 acres with production capacities of 5 GW solar cells and 5 GW modules. Estimated at INR 8,200 crore, that project had already received an LOI from Yeida and a subsequent Letter of Comfort from Invest UP.
