HVR Solar has announced the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to establish a 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line in the Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. The agreements were signed during the SNEC PV Power Expo 2026 held in Shanghai, China.

As part of the project, HVR Solar has partnered with Han's PV for the supply of the core manufacturing line and equipment required for TOPCon solar cell production. The company has also signed an agreement with Gentech for the supply of sophisticated chemical and gas systems required as utilities for the high-precision cell fabrication process.

In addition, Indygreen Technologies has been appointed as the technology facilitator for the project and will oversee the integration and deployment of the production line.

According to the company, the facility will manufacture TOPCon solar cells, a technology that is increasingly being adopted globally due to its higher efficiency and improved performance compared to conventional cell technologies.

Commenting on the development, Sagar Sachdev, Director, HVR Solar, said that securing these partnerships at the SNEC Expo marks a transformative milestone, ensuring that the new manufacturing base is equipped with the most reliable and future-proof technology available today to make India self-reliant.

Rishabh Aggarwal, Director, HVR Solar, highlighted that the timing of the initiative perfectly aligns with the urgent global market demands for higher efficiency components. He noted that beyond delivering cutting-edge technology, the company expects the new site to have a significant socio-economic impact, adding that the creation of a workforce of over 500 professionals reflects HVR Solar's commitment to local community development alongside industrial growth.

The project comes at a time when India is expanding its domestic solar manufacturing capabilities to reduce dependence on imports and support the country's renewable energy targets. The new facility is expected to strengthen the local solar supply chain and cater to the growing demand for domestically manufactured solar cells, asserted the company.
