Hitachi Energy Signs INR 1,000 Cr MoU with Tamil Nadu Govt for Manufacturing Expansion
Hitachi Energy has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest INR 1,000 crore over the next three to five years to expand its technology and manufacturing operations in the state.

Hitachi Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest INR 1,000 crore over the next three to five years to expand its technology and manufacturing footprint in the state. The investment is expected to generate 1,000 high-skilled technology jobs.
The MoU was signed at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister S. Joseph Vijay during an event organised by the state's Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce.
Under the agreement, Hitachi Energy Technology Services will expand its Global Technology and Innovation Centre at Porur, Chennai, while Hitachi Energy India will undertake the expansion of its manufacturing facility at Chengalpattu.
According to the state government, the combined projects will attract an investment of INR 1,000 crore over the next three to five years and create employment opportunities for 1,000 highly skilled technology professionals, further strengthening Tamil Nadu's position as a hub for advanced engineering, innovation and manufacturing.
The Hitachi Group operates in India through subsidiaries including Hitachi Energy India and Hitachi Energy Technology Services. The planned expansion is expected to enhance the company's research, engineering and manufacturing capabilities while supporting the state's industrial growth objectives.
