Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Commissions 50 kWp Solar Rooftop Project in Solan

A 50 kWp solar rooftop project has been commissioned by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) of Ministry of Power, Government of India in Solan.

A 50 kWp solar rooftop project has been commissioned by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) of Ministry of Power, Government of India in Solan.

The project was inaugurated by Sukh Ram, MPP & Power Minister, Himachal Pradesh and PK Singh, Director- Commercial & Projects (Additional Charge), Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) through a virtual platform.

The inauguration ceremony was a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, marking 75 years of India’s independence.

Further, the 50 kWp rooftop solar plant has been installed on the HPSEBL Circle office in Solan with an aggregate 152 photovoltaic (PV) panels, producing approx 165 Kwh of electricity per day.

Meanwhile, HPSEBL has successfully installed 1,107 kWp capacity rooftop solar plants in Himachal Pradesh under IPDS.

Under the ongoing ‘Go Green’ Initiative in the form of solar rooftop projects installation, 10 MWp of capacity solar panels have already been installed in Uttar Pradesh (UP), 8 MWp of capacity solar panels in Karnataka, 5 MWp of capacity solar panels in Kerala, 4 MWp of capacity solar panels in West Bengal, 3 MWp of capacity solar panels in Uttarakhand, and 1 MWp of capacity solar panels in Himachal Pradesh (HP).

The project further reinforces the ‘Go Green’ Initiative of the government envisaged in Urban Distribution scheme of government of India.
