Hexa Climate has announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CESC for the supply of 100 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power.
The project was awarded under CESC's tariff-based competitive bidding process for a total procurement of 600 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. While the tender was floated in November 2025, the auction was held in February 2026.
Under the agreement, the contracted capacity of 100 MW will be delivered from a project comprising 50 MW of solar and 100 MW of wind power capacity. The project will be located in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, stated the company.
The PPA has been signed at a fixed tariff of INR 3.75/kWh for a period of 25 years. The tariff has been adopted by the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC). The project will have a declared Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 50 percent at the delivery point, shared the company.
“At Hexa Climate, we're committed to building a diversified, pan-India portfolio of wind, solar, and hybrid assets that deliver reliable, round-the-clock clean power to India's growing grid – while helping utilities and corporates meet their sustainability goals at competitive tariffs,” stated the company.
As per the terms of the tender, identification of land, installation and ownership of the project, along with obtaining connectivity and necessary approvals and interconnection with the ISTS network for supply of power to CESC, will be under the scope of the developer.
Developers must use type-certified wind turbine models listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (Wind) for the wind projects. For the solar projects, the modules must be included in ALMM List-l and the cells used in the modules must be included in ALMM List-II.
Last month, Hexa Climate signed a PPA with NHPC for a 160 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project to supply round-the-clock clean power to Punjab at a tariff of INR 4.33/kWh.
