In line with its aim to expand footprints across India, Hartek Solar has bagged a 1.8 MW rooftop solar project in the industrial category from FMCG brand Bikaji to power its Head Office with clean energy in Rajasthan.

Hartek Solar is the rooftop solar division of the Hartek Group with operations in more than 10 states pan India, and has set a target of executing 10 MW of rooftop solar projects in the industrial domain by the end of the current financial year.

This rooftop solar plant along with storage facility will be installed at Bikaji’s Head Office at Bichhwal Industrial Area in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Also, it will use latest Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) technology with monocrystalline solar panels.

Post commissioning, the solar project is expected to generate 2,822 MWh of clean electricity every year, by offsetting 57,661 tonnes of carbon emissions.

In this project, Hartek Solar will be taking care of beginning from installation of solar panels and inverters to supply, design, engineering and commissioning.

Commenting on winning the order, Simarpreet Singh, Director and CEO of Hartek Solar said that, “the potential of rooftop solar in the industrial category is immense, and we are going all out to tap it. With favourable policy decisions making considerable impact, the industry is well poised to drive the demand for rooftop solar in coming months. There is a growing realisation among industrial consumers about how rooftop solar can substantially reduce their electricity bills.”

He further said Hartek Solar has found its niche through adoption of latest technologies and innovative solutions.

“The PERC technology we are using in this rooftop solar plant will help achieve higher energy conversion efficiency by adding a dielectric passivation layer on the rear of the cell. This layer will enhance efficiency by reducing electron recombination and increasing solar cells’ ability to capture light,” he added.

“Sustainable energy is the key to sustainable development. Our decision to go for rooftop solar to meet our electricity requirements is a step in this direction. Besides reducing our electricity bills, the solar plant at our Bikaner facility reinforces our commitment towards building a sustainable future. We are very glad that we chose Hartek Solar for installing this project. We have taken a small but significant step towards reducing the global carbon footprint,” said Deepak Agarwal, Managing Director of Bikaji.

Meanwhile, the company has installed over 40 MW of capacity across the industrial, commercial and residential categories in just four years of its inception.
