Extending its footprint to the healthcare sector, Chandigarh-based Hartek Solar has commissioned a 50-kWp rooftop solar project at Alchemist Hospital, a Heart & Cancer hospital, in Panchkula under institutional category.
The project has been equipped with latest remote sensing technology that provides real-time alerts on energy generation and savings and equipped with all safety devices like walkway and safety lifeline.
Moreover, the solar plant is expected to generate 72.5 MWh of clean electricity annually by offsetting 1,397 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The rooftop solar division of Hartek Group has executed this project right from installation of solar panels and inverter to supply, design, engineering and commissioning.
Furthermore, the solar plant has been synced with a smart grid-interactive inverter system, which will enable the hospital to run its medical emergency services and diagnostic facilities without any glitches.
Commenting on the successful execution of the project, Simarpreet Singh, Director and CEO of Hartek Solar, said that, “this project is yet another testimony of our expertise in the rooftop solar domain and our track record of keeping up high project execution standards. The potential of rooftop solar in the private institutional category is immense, and we are going all out to tap it.”
On the market trends, Simarpreet said that there is a growing realisation among institutions like hospitals and schools about how rooftop solar can substantially reduce their electricity bills and provide a reliable and uninterrupted source of electricity without depending on heavy inverters and diesel-based generator sets.
“Going by the favourable trends, private institutions and commercial units will set the pace for rooftop solar in coming months,” he said.
The tariff rates for rooftop solar work out to be 17-27 per cent cheaper as compared to commercial tariffs, and this is what is primarily driving the adoption of rooftop solar in the commercial domain.
Meanwhile, the company has installed capacity of more than 40 MW across the industrial, commercial and residential categories in over 10 states in just 4 years of its inception.
