Hartek Power has announced that the company has secured an 80 MW turnkey solar EPC project in Uttar Pradesh, valued at approximately INR 200 crore, from a steel manufacturer.

The project is being developed at a separate location and is aimed at supporting the customer’s captive power consumption, enabling greater integration of renewable energy into its overall energy mix. Hartek Power is expected to complete the project by December 31, 2026.

Under the mandate, Hartek Power will undertake the complete EPC scope for the solar project, covering engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning. The scope also includes the supply of key project equipment, including solar modules, inverters, power transformers and Inverter Duty Transformers (IDTs).

Commenting on the project win, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO, Hartek Power, said, “The increasing adoption of renewable energy by energy-intensive industries reflects a broader shift towards cleaner, more efficient and sustainable power solutions. Our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy business is working closely with large industrial enterprises across India to support their decarbonisation journeys and long-term net-zero ambitions.”

He further added, “We are pleased to have been entrusted with this 80 MW project, which further strengthens our position in delivering integrated solar EPC solutions for industrial customers. At Hartek, our focus remains on combining engineering expertise, reliable equipment supply and execution excellence to help industries transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future.”

The project comes at a time when energy-intensive industries are increasingly exploring renewable energy to optimise their energy mix, improve cost efficiency and support their long-term sustainability objectives. For sectors such as steel, where energy requirements are significant, captive renewable power can play an important role in enabling greater integration of clean energy into industrial operations while supporting more efficient power consumption.

Hartek has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid and has executed renewable energy projects across multiple states. Its growing portfolio reflects the company’s ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy solutions while addressing the evolving power requirements of industrial and commercial customers, the company asserted.
