Gujarat, a stalwart in the energy sector, is embarking on a groundbreaking journey to illuminate its rural heartlands, constituting a substantial 75 percent of its energy production.

Deviating from the urban-centric approach, the state sets an ambitious target to escalate rural electrification levels from the current 20-25 percent to 50 percent.
Gujarat's Vision and Goals entail electrifying 10 lakh households within the year, with a significant contribution of 4 lakh coming from PGVCL. This collaborative effort involves mobilizing 5000 vendors for the distribution of energy solutions in rural areas, fostering partnerships to bring about impactful change.
Engaging communities lies at the core of this initiative, with Gujarat's DISCOM implementing robust Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives. These include SMS campaigns, missed call lead generation, and branding efforts across 5000 villages, ensuring that the benefits of solar energy are communicated effectively.
The state's Digital Outreach strategy includes a concerted effort in social media marketing and video promotions to enhance consumer awareness, underlining the commitment to a greener tomorrow.
Streamlining the feasibility approval process to within 1 hour, Gujarat aims to catalyze a Solar Revolution, making the adoption of solar energy more accessible and efficient.
In a move towards inclusivity and empowerment, the state actively involves all employees in solar installation, with a particular focus on government and salaried personnel.
This comprehensive approach not only illuminates rural Gujarat but also serves as a model for inclusive and sustainable energy practices, inviting collective participation in lighting up landscapes for a brighter and greener future.
