Gujarat Releases Tender for Solar Projects Worth 1 MW at Tourist Sites

The Tourist Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. (TCGL) has announced that it has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible parties for setting up of on-grid solar systems, solar parking lots, and off-grid solar benches at various smart tourist locations in Gujarat.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar systems. The selected bidders will also be required to provide five years comprehensive operation and maintenance of the systems from the date of successful commissioning and free replacement warranty on spare parts against any manufacturing defects.

The last date for bid submission is September 6, 2019, (September 4, 2019, for online submission) and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date i.e. September 6, 2019. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5 crore and all bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 5 lakh along with their bids.

The scope of work also includes a survey of the identified sites and the preparation of a detailed project report of the proposed locations. The successful vendors/bidders must obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) and net metering connectivity agreements from the concerned distribution company for grid-connectivity.

For the eligibility criteria, TCGL has maintained that only those bidders who manufacture either solar PV modules or inverters and have adequate facilities for testing (i.e., sun simulator, digital DC power supply, solar meter, and multimeters) of the solar systems would be allowed to supply the systems under the program.

As per the provisions, the PV modules should be made in India, as per the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) requirements. The total solar PV array capacity should not be less than the allocated capacity and should consist of solar crystalline modules of a minimum 200 W with module efficiency not less than 14 percent.
