Gujarat-based solar inverter and lithium-ion battery manufacturer Gronsol has announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art inverter manufacturing facility in Surat, Gujarat.

In its first phase, the facility has an installed manufacturing capacity of approximately 12,000 inverters per month, designed to cater to India's growing demand across residential, commercial, and industrial solar segments, said Jaydeep Gajera, CEO, Gronsol Inverter Technology LLP, to Energetica India.

He further added that Gronsol has made a strategic multi-crore investment in setting up this state-of-the-art manufacturing unit, covering advanced production lines, automated testing infrastructure, quality-assurance systems, and R&D enablement.

The facility will manufacture a wide range of solar Inverters, including on-grid inverters, hybrid inverters, micro-inverters and Energy Storage System (ESS). “These products are designed to serve residential rooftops, commercial establishments, industrial facilities, EPC projects, and utility-scale applications, ensuring Gronsol's presence across the entire solar value chain,” asserted Gajera.

The new plant integrates advanced manufacturing and quality-control technologies aligned with global benchmarks. Its capabilities include automated assembly with precision component integration, comprehensive in-house functional, thermal, and load testing, and grid-simulation testing tailored to Indian grid conditions. The facility also conducts burn-in and reliability testing to ensure long-term performance, supported by strict incoming and outgoing quality inspection protocols.

“Gronsol has also established in-house R&D and product validation facilities, enabling faster development cycles, customisation for EPC and utility requirements, and rapid incorporation of market feedback. These capabilities significantly improve product efficiency, durability, and turnaround time, while reducing dependency on external testing and development partners,” said Gajera.

Talking about the location, Gajera highlighted that the new manufacturing facility is strategically located in India's key industrial belt, ensuring strong supply-chain connectivity, skilled manpower availability, and efficient logistics for pan-India distribution. “Phase-1 of the plant has been commissioned during FY 2025-26, following extensive planning and infrastructure development,” he said.

Gajera emphasised that the manufacturing facility holds strategic importance in Gronsol’s long-term vision, serving as a cornerstone of its growth and indigenisation strategy. “By bringing production in-house, the company gains greater control over quality, timelines, and costs, while enabling faster innovation and product localisation. The facility also strengthens support for channel partners, distributors, and EPCs, and reduces import dependence, improving supply stability across the value chain,” he said.

More importantly, the plant positions Gronsol as a serious Indian manufacturer, not just a system integrator or trader, asserted Gajera. With a rapidly expanding dealer and distributor network across India, the facility strengthens Gronsol's ability to scale operations, support large-volume projects, and explore future export markets.

In that direction, the company has already planned a Phase-2 expansion, which will further enhance capacity based on market demand, export opportunities, and new product introductions such as energy storage and advanced hybrid solutions, divulged Gajera.

The new inverter manufacturing facility reinforces Gronsol’s commitment to the Make in India initiative and the rapidly expanding renewable energy ecosystem in the country. “From starting with a small team and limited infrastructure to commissioning a full-scale manufacturing facility, Gronsol's journey reflects its ambition to become one of India's fastest-growing and most trusted solar inverter brands,” Gajera asserted.
