GREW Solar has received Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) clearance from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for 3 GW of its G12R High Power solar module manufacturing capacity, enabling deployment in government-mandated and utility-scale solar projects across India.
The Ahmedabad-based manufacturer said that the approval confirms compliance with stringent quality and performance standards and strengthens its participation in India’s regulated solar procurement market. As part of its expansion strategy, the company is scaling its M10, M10R and G12R module manufacturing capacity from 6.5 GW to 11 GW by 2026.
According to the company, GREW Solar introduced its G12R High Power Series last year to align with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and to strengthen domestic manufacturing.
The company further said that the G12R High Power Series delivers output of up to 635 Wp and is designed for utility-scale and open access projects. It added that the modules reduce the total number of panels required per megawatt by 6–8 percent, helping lower structural, cabling and land costs while improving installation timelines and EPC efficiency. The optimised design also enables 6–7 percent higher container power density and 1.5–3 percent higher power output per square metre compared to conventional TOPCon modules.
Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of GREW Solar, said that the ALMM approval marks a key milestone for the company. He noted that the certification validates product quality and enhances GREW Solar’s ability to support India’s clean energy expansion at scale, while the capacity expansion reflects its focus on delivering high-performance solutions for developers.
With the approval, the G12R module is now eligible for use in government, open access and net-metering solar projects, allowing developers to comply with domestic sourcing norms while deploying high-efficiency modules in large public and institutional installations.
The company said that it will continue investing in manufacturing scale-up, technology development and quality systems to serve both domestic and international solar markets.
