Greenzo Energy, India’s indigenous alakaline electrolyser manufacturer has unveiled its groundbreaking 1 MW alkaline electrolyser stack, named the 'Un Wheel,' marking a significant advancement in India’s green hydrogen production capabilities.
The firm stated in its note, "As the country’s only indigenous alkaline electrolyser manufacturer, Greenzo aims to optimise hydrogen production specifically for Indian environmental conditions with this new technology. It is designed entirely by Indian scientists and engineers, the 'Un Wheel' operates effectively across a wide temperature range from -20°C to 60°C. With a robust lifespan of 20 years, the electrolyser delievers hydrogen at a pressure of 30 bar, eliminating the need for additional compressors, thus enhancing efficiency."
As per the firm in its note, the stack incorporates advanced monitoring and control features to ensure both efficient and safe hydrogen production. The key parameters monitored include pure water quality, optimised pressure levels, and stable purification pressure, all crucial for maintaining high hydrogen purity. The system also tracks lye temperature and controls circulation and dew point to ensure optimal electrolytic reactions and process stability.
Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Greenzo Energy, emphasised the significance of this launch, stating, “The launch of our ‘Un Wheel’ stack is a defining moment not only for Greenzo Energy but for India’s green energy ambitions. With this breakthrough, we’re setting new standards in green hydrogen technology, pushing India’s vision of energy independence and environmental resilience into high gear. The ‘Un Wheel’ reflects our commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, advancing sustainable growth for the nation."
Agarwal further highlighted the stack's innovative features, which include a unique electrolyte composition for improved performance, durability, and waste heat recovery to enhance energy efficiency. He noted that the stack is designed to address the urgent energy needs of industries such as heavy manufacturing, transportation, and power as they transition towards clean energy. Greenzo Energy’s current order book stands at INR 1,400 crore, and the company anticipates significant revenue growth from this new technology.
"The 'Un Wheel' also adheres to the highest international standards, holding certifications for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015, ensuring top-notch quality, safety, and environmental sustainability. By leveraging domestic expertise and resources." said the firm in its note.
