GreenGo Energy, in partnership with Encavis AG, has attained ‘ready-to-build’ status for the upcoming +270-hectare solar facility near Ringkøbing.

One of Denmark's largest solar parks, Nørhede-Hjortmose near Ringkøbing, is now a significant step closer to being realized in full scale with the ‘ready-to-build’ stamp.

The solar park has a capacity of 132 MW equivalent to powering 42,000 households and at the same time replacing a significant amount of CO2 in the Danish energy production.

Karsten Nielsen, CEO of Danish GreenGo Energy said, "This is a milestone. For us, for our strategic partner Encavis, and for the transition to green energy in Denmark. Together with Encavis alone, we are developing more than 500 MW of subsidy-free solar energy in Denmark. In total, GreenGo Energy have recently reached +2GW solar power planned in Denmark. That is also a milestone.”

Mario Schirru, Chief Investment Officer/Chief Operating Officer at German Encavis, stated, "In about two and a half years, we have realized more than 280 MW of generation capacity from photovoltaic projects of our Strategic Development Partner GreenGo Energy in Denmark. Our Danish solar park portfolio now comprises almost 400 MW and, together with Germany (over 400 MW) and Spain (583 MW), is one of our largest solar park portfolios in Europe. The involvement of Encavis in Denmark is thus also a contribution to the further diversification of our activities in the growth market of subsidy-free solar energy”.

Earlier in 2019, Encavis and GreenGo Energy signed a strategic partnership to build over 500 MW of subsidy-free solar energy in Denmark. The largest (and first) projects are in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality.

The Nørhede-Hjortmose park is expected to be fully operational in 2026.

Encavis AG is a German solar energy company which develops, builds, and operates solar parks on an industrial scale. As one of the leading independent power producers (IPP), ENCAVIS acquires and operates (onshore) wind farms and solar parks in twelve European countries. The plants for sustainable energy production generate stable yields through guaranteed feed-in tariffs (FIT) or long-term power purchase agreements (PPA).

Encavis Group’s total generation capacity currently adds up to more than 3.5 gigawatts (GW), of which more than 2.1 GW belongs to the Encavis AG, which corresponds to a total saving of around 0.8 million tonnes of CO2 per year stand-alone for the Encavis AG.

GreenGo Energy was founded in 2011 with the vision to accelerate conversion to renewable energy generation, by an innovative and scalable business model. GreenGo Energy’s 360-degree full services platform includes origination, investment structuring, development, offtake, EPC management and asset management services, fully tailored and bespoke to our client’s needs and investment profile.

GreenGo Energy has 19 GW of solar, wind and P2X projects in various stages of development and construction in seven U.S. states and in Northern Europe, of which more than 4.5 GW has been contracted through partnership agreements with Tier 1 investors in the renewable space.
