Gopin Semicon Enters ALMM List-II, Total Solar Cell Capacity Under ALMM Reaches 37.8 GW
Surat-based Gopin Semicon has entered the MNRE’s ALMM List-II with 402 MW of N-type TOPCon solar cell capacity, taking the total listed cell manufacturing capacity to 37,795 MW.

The listed model (GSPL_G12R) has an efficiency range of 24.60-25.70 percent with an average of 25.57 percent. Its wattage range varies from 9.41 W to 9.82 W, with an average of 9.78 W.
With this, the cumulative cell manufacturing capacity enlisted in ALMM has reached 37,795 MW.
This is the 12th revision of the list since being first published on July 31, 2025.
The list was last updated on October 5, 2026, when Premier Energies Photovoltaic, a subsidiary of Premier Energies, added 529 MW of Mono-PERC solar cell capacity from its plant in Telangana, increasing the company’s overall listed capacity to 3,812 MW.
The cut-off date for the implementation of ALMM List-II for utility-scale projects tendered by state and central utilities and REIAs where ALMM-II applicability is decided based on the date of bid submission, was August 31, 2025.
MNRE, however, has extended the exemption from ALMM II requirements of using domestically manufactured solar cells for net metering and open access solar projects till December 31, 2026.
In March 2026, MNRE expanded its ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers under a new List-III, mandating their use from June 1, 2028. The first list will be published when at least three independent wafer manufacturers with a combined 15 GW capacity are enlisted, and the cut-off date will be 7 days post the initial list issuance.
