Godrej & Boyce, a part of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has recently announced the commissioning of a 25 MW ground-mounted solar project in Dhule, Maharashtra for the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd.
Spanning over 52 hectares, the plant is set to generate 45 million units annually. As per a statement issued by the company, the solar plant will supply power to the open market, contributing to Maharashtra’s renewable energy ambitions.
Commenting on the development, Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President and Business Head – Electricals & Electronics, Godrej & Boyce subsidiary said, “We have a strong focus on developing customised solutions to meet the specific challenges of each project. And, this 25 MW solar installation reaffirms our ability to ‘Innovate for India’, designing end-to-end solutions that are carefully tailored to their environment, ensuring maximum efficiency. Beyond contributing to Maharashtra’s renewable energy goals, this project also highlights the important role private enterprises play in accelerating India’s clean energy transition.”
He further explained about the innovative value engineering employed in this project to overcome the challenges of undulated land and hard soil strata. “Custom-designed structures with varied heights and wind resistance capabilities were designed to ensure maximum efficiency, despite the complex topography,” he added. This large-scale project, which enhances Mahagenco’s total capacity to 428.02 MW, highlights the adaptability and technological strength of the business in executing challenging solar installations.
