GMIDC Invites EOI for 200 MW Floating Solar Project with BESS in Maharashtra

Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation has invited bids to develop, operate and maintain a 200 MW floating solar PV project with a co-located BESS on the Purna reservoir in Hingoli district, Maharashtra, under the PPP model.

Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation (GMIDC) has invited an expression of interest (EOI) for the development and maintenance of a 200 MW floating solar PV project with a battery energy storage system (BESS) on the reservoir surface of the Purna project in Hingoli district of Maharashtra on a PPP basis.
 
The bidders must design, supply, install, test, commission, operate and maintain a co-located Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) meeting the minimum storage obligation applicable for COD FY 2028-29, i.e., storage power capacity 250 percent of contracted RE capacity and minimum 2-hour duration, with a modular augmentation pathway to 4 hours if COD slips beyond FY 2029-30.
 
The bidders must pay INR 11,800 as a tender document fee and another INR 500 as a processing fee.
 
The last date for submission of bids is August 11, 2026. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on August 12, 2026.
 
The bidder must have collectively developed over 100 MW of floating solar projects and 50 MW BESS or equivalent nature infra-PPP projects in the last 5 years preceding the EOI submission date. Additionally, the bidder must have operated and maintained over 100 MW of renewable energy projects for over 2 years.
 
As for financial eligibility, the bidder must have an average annual turnover of at least INR 395 crore during the last five financial years. The bidder must also have a positive net worth as on March 31, 2026.
