GK Energy Secures INR 454.50 Cr Contract for 100 MW Rooftop Solar Across 1 Lakh Homes

GK Energy has secured an INR 454.50 crore empanelment contract from a state discom to install rooftop solar systems across 1,00,000 households with a cumulative capacity of 100 MW.

Solar EPC company GK Energy has announced that it has received a Letter of Empanelment (LOE) worth INR 454.50 crore from a State Government-owned power distribution utility for 100 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects.

Under the empanelment, the company has been allocated 1 kW rooftop solar capacity to be installed across 1 lakh households, with combined capacity of 100 MW and contract value of approximately INR 454.50 Crore including GST. With this, the company has already received allocation/empanelment of more than INR 1,092 crore in FY27, the company stated.

It further added that as part of the project scope, GK Energy will undertake design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems, along with O&M for a period of five years. The projects are to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the respective work orders.

Commenting on the development, Gopal Kabra, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, GK Energy, said, “This empanelment marks an important step in expanding our presence in the rooftop solar segment and taking clean energy solutions to a wider base of households. Our experience in executing decentralised solar projects across multiple locations provides us with the capabilities and on-ground reach required to undertake projects of this scale.”

Through this project, we look forward to contributing to the country's renewable energy goals by enabling greater adoption of solar energy at the household level.”

For GK Energy, this development expands its presence in the rooftop solar segment and builds on its experience in executing decentralised solar projects. The company will leverage its existing execution capabilities and on-ground network for implementation of these projects, the company stated.
