GIPCL Fully Operationalises its 600 MW Solar Power Projects at Khavda Renewable Energy Park
Gujarat Industries Power Company has fully operationalised its 600 MW solar project at the Khavda renewable energy park with the commissioning of the final 135 MW phase.

Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has announced that the company has operationalised the full 600 MW capacity of its solar power project located within the 2,375 MW renewable energy park at Khavda, Gujarat.
The company has successfully commissioned fifth and final phase of 135 MW out of 600 MW solar power project, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
The first, second and third parts capacity of 105 MW each were operationalised in June, September and October 2025, respectively. The fourth part capacity of 150 MW was commissioned in November 2025.
With this, GIPCL’s total installed capacity in solar power has now increased to 8,157 MW.
GIPCL commissioned a 75 MW Vastan Group captive solar power plant in May 2025 on Vastan Mine reclaimed land at Taluka Vastan, of Surat district. It commissioned a 100 MW solar project in the Raghanesda Solar Park in 2021. Further, 75 MW and 80 MW solar projects in Gujarat Solar Park, at Village Charanka, of Patan district, were commissioned in the years 2019 and 2017, respectively.
Additionally, the company commissioned 112.4 MW of wind power projects in the Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat. The company also has 810 MW of thermal capacity.
In August 2025, the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, approved GIPCL’s proposal to establish a 700–750 MW Lignite-based Power Plant at Valia. GUVNL’s Board has granted in-principle approval for the procurement of power from GIPCL’s proposed 700 MW Lignite-based Power Plant for a period of 25 years, subject to approval from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
