The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has notified the fourth amendment to its Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) Regulations, 2026, revising provisions related to banking charges under the existing 2024 framework.

As per the notification, the Commission has amended Regulation 17.6 (viii) to specify a banking charge of INR 1.50 per unit, applicable from the date of notification up to June 30, 2026, or until further revision through a separate notification.

Correspondingly, Regulation 1(4) has also been modified to align the applicability period of the banking charges with the revised timeline. The amendment has been issued under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and will be applicable across the state of Gujarat from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Further, the Commission stated that post the specified period, banking charges will be applicable as per subsequent notifications issued by GERC.
