GEON has announced the launch of its GELITHIUM Integrated Inverter Solution, an all-in-one power backup system that combines an inverter and a built-in lithium-ion battery within a single compact enclosure.

Power instability continues to impact productivity across various parts of the country, particularly in semi-urban and transition markets, where grid reliability remains inconsistent. According to industry observations, multiple Central and Eastern Indian growth corridors experience recurring voltage fluctuations and peak-hour load shedding, increasing dependence on backup power systems.

Industry estimates indicate that nearly 70 percent of India’s installed backup capacity still uses legacy lead-acid inverter systems. These systems require electrolyte maintenance, manual wiring, and frequent servicing, and typically offer lower operating efficiency and faster performance degradation. As households and micro-businesses look to reduce long-term ownership costs and simplify usage, integrated lithium inverter platforms are increasingly emerging as an alternative due to their maintenance-free operation, longer service life, and stable power output.

According to the company, the GELITHIUM solution simplifies conventional backup setups by integrating the inverter and lithium battery into a single sealed unit. This design removes the need for external cabling and separate batteries, reduces installation complexity for dealers, saves indoor space for users, and eliminates routine servicing. GEON positions the system as suitable for homes, clinics, small retail outlets, offices, and light commercial applications.

The GELITHIUM systems use lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) prismatic cells supported by an intelligent Battery Management System, fast-charging capability, and multiple protection features. According to the company, these elements help ensure consistent performance, enhanced safety, and a longer operating life.

The company stated that the GELITHIUM range offers longer service life compared to conventional lead-acid systems and does not require maintenance such as water refilling or corrosion management. This, according to the company, results in fewer post-installation service requirements and lower overall ownership costs for customers, while also reducing service-related challenges for dealers. The range includes models designed for residential use as well as higher-capacity variants for small commercial applications, enabling partners to address multiple customer segments through a single product line.

Commenting on the launch, Anand Kabra, Chairman and Managing Director, GEON, said, “The economics of power-backup are shifting from upfront pricing to lifecycle value. Users want higher usable energy per cycle with minimal supervision. By combining lithium chemistry, BMS, and inverter hardware into a single system, the GELITHIUM delivers predictable long-term performance without the recurring upkeep typical of lead-acid configurations.”

According to the company, GELITHIUM supports the growing use of electronic devices in homes and offices by providing steady and clean power. This helps safeguard sensitive equipment such as medical devices, laptops, Wi-Fi systems, CCTV cameras, and billing machines. The system features a user-friendly display for real-time monitoring and built-in safety mechanisms designed for extended operating hours. GEON stated that the solution aims to reduce service requirements, improve user experience, and deliver consistent value for customers, distributors, and channel partners.
