Gamesa India recognized for Solar EPC capabilities at India Solar Week 2016

Gamesa Solar has announced that it was recently honoured with the “Rising Star - Solar PV EPC Company of the Year - Utility Scale” award for its Solar EPC capabilities at the India Solar Week 2016 organized by Solar Quarter in New Delhi. The award recognising Gamesa for its proven capabilities in the renewable energy sector was handed to Mr. K.V. Sajay, EVP, Solar Business Unit, Gamesa.

Having entered the solar sector in India in Mid-2015, Gamesa has commissioned over 68 MW of solar power in India. The company recently announced its entry into Sri Lanka with a maiden order for 20 MW photovoltaic solar plant in Hambantota province, Sri Lanka.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr K V Sajay said, “We are humbled by this honour. This is a testament to the outstanding commitment displayed by our team in understanding and meeting customer demands and needs. Having recently established our leadership position in the wind sector, we are confident that with this momentum, we will be able to reach greater heights in the solar sector as well.”

India Solar Week was attended by more than 250 participants across the globe. Attendees at this event included key government officials, CXOs and other senior company officials from all the stakeholders of Indian solar sector including developers, EPC players, service and technology providers, investors and other top professionals from the sector.

The India Solar Week Excellence Awards are focused on personalities, projects and products from companies that have set the new benchmark in the Indian solar sector.

The Awards were presented by Mr. Sukesh Kumar Jain, Power Secretary, Delhi who was the Chief Guest, Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Srivastava, Head, Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Management Center, Government of NCT of Delhi, Prof. Harinarayana, Director, GERMI and Mr Vijay Kumar, MD, FirstView Group.
