Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Gamesa – world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, is observing an increased presence of Public Sector Undertakings in its order books. The company has recently bagged an order from Oil India Limited (OIL) for commissioning sixteen G-58 (850 kW) machines equaling 13.6MW. While the tender award was issued on February 3, 2012 the project stands completed as per the contract on March 31, 2012. The machines have been delivered at Lodurva Village in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The increasing PSU orders signify Gamesa’s credibility as a preferred wind turbine manufacturer among the PSU’s in the country. In addition to the mentioned OIL order, the company has also received orders from the Gas Authority of India Limited (24.65 MW) and the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (5.95 MW).

Commenting on the development, Chairman and Managing Director of GAMESA Wind Turbines Private Limited, Mr. Ramesh Kymal, said, “We are overwhelmed with the Oil India project since it becomes the first wind park project for GAMESA in the State of Rajasthan marking the company’s aggressive expansion in the North Western Region.”
Mr. Kymal noted that with GAMESA installing over 800 MW within a short span of two years, the company is making great strides in the wind energy sector.
