GAIL Floats Tender for 600 MW Solar Project with 275 MW/550 MWh BESS in Uttar Pradesh
GAIL (India) Ltd. has invited bids for setting up a 600 MW solar PV project coupled with a 275 MW/550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Bid submission ends on August 20, 2026.

GAIL (India) Ltd. has floated a tender for setting up a 600 MW solar PV project with 275 MW/550 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar PV project with BESS. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for 5 years.
Bidders must deposit INR 26 crore as an earnest money deposit (EMD).
The last date for submission of bids is August 20, 2026. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on August 21, 2026.
The tender mandates the use of both solar photovoltaic (SPV) cells and modules manufactured domestically as per specifications and testing requirements fixed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
To be eligible, bidders must have completed either one grid-connected ground-mounted solar EPC/LSTK project of at least 200 MW under a single work order, or two grid-connected ground-mounted solar EPC/LSTK projects of at least 100 MW each, within the last seven years as of the bid submission deadline.
Additionally, bidders must have executed grid-connected solar PV projects with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 600 MW during the same period.
As for financial eligibility, the minimum average annual turnover of the bidder in the preceding three years must be INR 1,097.27 crore. The net worth of the bidder must be positive. Further, the bidder must possess a minimum working capital of INR 219.45 crore.
