GAIL and Hindustan Copper Ink MoU to Jointly Explore and Develop Critical Mineral Resources
GAIL (India) Ltd. and Hindustan Copper Ltd. have signed an MoU to jointly explore and develop critical mineral resources in India and abroad, aiming to boost self-reliance and support the nation’s clean energy ambitions.

GAIL (India) Ltd. and Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the exploration and development of critical mineral resources in India and overseas.
Sanjay Agarwal, Executive Director (Business Development and Exploration and Production), GAIL and Binod Kumar Gupta, Executive Director (Mining) - Resource Planning, HCL signed the MoU in the presence of R.K. Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL and Sanjeev K. Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, HCL along with senior officials from both the organisations.
This strategic partnership between Hindustan Copper and GAIL marks a significant development in India's critical minerals sector, potentially enhancing the country's self-reliance in these crucial resources and supporting its growing technology and clean energy industries, said the company in a statement
“It also reflects India’s growing focus on sustainable development and the need to reduce dependence on imported resources by strengthening domestic capabilities in mining and mineral processing,” it said.
The MoU represents a forward-looking step toward unlocking the potential of India's mineral wealth while also exploring strategic opportunities abroad. The collaboration reaffirms the commitment of both companies to national development, technological progress, and sustainable resource management.
