Gadkari Unveils Kirloskar Oil Engines’s New Ethanol and Isobutanol Engines

Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. (KOEL) has unveiled its Ethanol and Isobutanol engine technology. The launch  was officiated by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the government’s push for alternative fuel solutions as a cornerstone of India’s journey towards energy independence.

KOEL reaffirmed its leadership in advancing clean power solutions, with the new engines launched around World Biofuel Day, highlighting the company’s focus on alternative fuels, supporting national energy diversification goals and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future.

Speaking on the launch, Rahul Sahai, CEO of Kirloskar Oil Engines, said, “This innovation reinforces our vision of delivering cleaner, sustainable power for all. With Ethanol and Isobutanol engines, we are not only embracing alternative fuels but also contributing to the nation’s energy diversification and environmental goals.”

The new engines feature advanced combustion technology that significantly reduces greenhouse gas output, compatibility with renewable biofuels such as Ethanol and Isobutanol to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, robust performance engineered for diverse industrial and commercial applications, and sustainable manufacturing achieved through eco-friendly production practices and optimised resource usage.
