G R Infraprojects Terminates NTPC BESS Contracts

G R Infraprojects terminates NTPC BESS contracts citing force majeure and war risk and the contractual issues arising from the contractual provisions.

G R Infraprojects Ltd. has issued a notice of termination to NTPC Ltd. for contracts related to the execution of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package for battery energy storage system (BESS) implementation at NTPC thermal power stations in Lot-1 at Mouda Super Thermal Power Station, Maharashtra.

The company disclosed the termination in a filing dated September 16, 2026. The EPC agreements were executed between G R Infraprojects and NTPC on April 23, 2026. The contracts covered three agreements relating to the BESS implementation package at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station.

According to the company, the termination was issued with immediate effect due to continuing force majeure and war risk circumstances, along with contractual issues arising from the provisions of the agreements.

G R Infraprojects said that it has invoked the applicable dispute resolution mechanism and reserved its rights and remedies under the contract agreements.

The company added that the financial impact of the termination is currently being assessed.
