Frost & Sullivan Announces the Launch of Sustainability 4.0 Awards 2016

Evaluates Four Major Parameters - Purpose, Planet, Partnership, and People for Sustainable Development

November 23, 2015. By Moulin

Frost & Sullivan has announced the launch of its Sustainability 4.0 Awards 2016 which will take place on 27th May 2016 at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai. The erstwhile Green Manufacturing Excellence Awards is a prestigious awards banquet that has become a premier platform acknowledging companies for their work in sustainability requirements across their value chains.

The impact of transformational changes, unexpected disruptions in technologies and established operating systems has shifted the focus of industries toward sustainable practices. With an increasing number of enterprises embracing approaches to sustainable development, the need to support these businesses and recognize their efforts has become paramount.

Instituted in 2009, the sustainability assessment program has transcended, increasing its scope of coverage to encompass not just environmental sustainability but all other elements which benchmark a sustainable organization. The assessment framework with four major parameters - Purpose, Planet, Partnership, and People and 13 total measurement criteria under each parameter, is a comprehensive system. This will provide a detailed understanding enabling an enterprise to identify its position in the sustainability performance drive and compare its performance against similar organizations.

Announcing the launch of the 7th edition of the awards banquet, Mr. Nitin Kalothia, Director, Manufacturing & Process Consulting, Frost & Sullivan said, "The parameters of perpetuity of a business has moved beyond revenue generation and management's innovative thinking. To survive and thrive in today’s volatile ecosystem, corporates in India are imbibing sustainable development as part of their long-term strategy.

Beyond significant focus on renewable energy, water, and waste management over the last decade, advanced green technologies at affordable prices is driving the holistic sustainability journey. Companies are now focusing on incubating novel initiatives to inculcate sustainable development for their entire value chain and not just in manufacturing and environmental sustainability. At Frost & Sullivan, we are proud to recognize such initiatives and excellence in practices and we look forward to assist the front runners in their sustainability journey."

The assessment will conclude with a feedback session on the current performances of companies, the strengths they possess, and the opportunities available for improvement post the on-site assessment. A detailed scorecard with quantitative assessments of the strengths and weaknesses with respect to “Sustainable Practices” will be shared with the shortlisted companies. This scorecard along with a comprehensive and meticulous report (submitted only on request) will highlight the sustainability framework and latent opportunities for management and employees to leverage best practices in their sustainability journey.

The development and implementation of a structured sustainability program is a holistic process and involves a 360-degree perspective of the elements of an organization. Today, not just manufacturing industries, but also other industry verticals have adopted initiatives toward sustainable innovation. Keeping this in mind, this year applications for nominations are open to  companies across Manufacturing, Logistics, Hotels, IT & ITES, KPO, BPO, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, Construction, Telecommunications, and Healthcare in India, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

This event is supported by “Business Standard” who has partnered as the National Newspaper Partner. Other Media Partners on board supporting this event are Cargo Connect, Commercial Vehicle, ECargolog, Efficient Manufacturing, Energetica India, Indian Transport & Logistics News, Manufacturing Today, Process India, and Sustainability Next.
