Fourth Partner Energy (FPEL) has announced that it has strengthened its partnership with Hyundai Motor Group and its affiliates through a new agreement for about 28 MW of wind-solar hybrid power.
“What began as a rooftop solar installation has now evolved into decarbonising the entire supply chain for Hyundai through this partnership with Hyundai MOBIS, HYUNDAI WIA, Hyundai Glovis India, and HYUNDAI TRANSYS,” the company stated.
Power will be sourced from FPEL’s upcoming wind-solar hybrid park in Tamil Nadu. It is estimated to reduce 38,185 tons of carbon emissions annually. This procurement will elevate the renewable energy share in their total energy mix to approximately 70 percent.
This partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two parties. In November 2024, Hyundai Motor India signed two 25-year power purchase agreements with Fourth Partner Energy to procure 75 MW of solar and 42.9 MW of wind power from the latter's solar and wind projects in Tamil Nadu under a group captive model.
