E-commerce marketplace Flipkart announced it has joined the EV100 initiative of The Climate Group, pledging for a phased integration of electric vehicles into its complete fleet whether directly-owned or rented corporate fleets by 2030.

This would be done by placing requirements in the service contracts, installing the charging infrastructure close to its 1,400 supply chain locations, steering awareness programs and incentivizing delivery executives, towards the use of electric vehicles, the company said in a declaration.

“As a homegrown company, we always pride ourselves in making e-commerce more inclusive, progressive and impactful for all our stakeholders, which also comprises communities and the planet,” said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart Group.

The company said it has tried to expand the network of ecosystem partners over the past year.
