Digital lending platform Fibe and Canadian cleantech fintech company Hygge Energy have partnered to integrate digital energy infrastructure with loan financing, aiming to simplify financing for rooftop solar customers and support the adoption of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana across India.
As rooftop solar adoption continues to grow across India, digital platforms can play an important role in connecting households with solar providers and financing solutions, Fibe said in a statement.
Hygge Energy has already successfully demonstrated the benefits of peer-to-peer rooftop solar energy trading in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Its digital marketplace enables rooftop solar producers and prosumers to trade electricity directly with other consumers, thereby enhancing the economic value of rooftop solar installations. Having established the infrastructure for a rooftop solar energy trading marketplace, Hygge Energy is now extending its platform to support rooftop solar financing in partnership with Fibe.
By digitally connecting customers with solar providers and financing opportunities, the partnership aims to expand customer reach, simplify access to loans, and support wider adoption of rooftop solar financing across India.
Akshay Mehrotra, Managing Director and Group CEO, Fibe, said, “At Fibe, we are committed to making credit more accessible through technology-led solutions that address real customer needs. Our partnership with Hygge Energy is a step towards enabling easier access to financing for households looking to adopt rooftop solar solutions. By combining Hygge's digital energy marketplace with Fibe's lending capabilities, we aim to simplify the financing journey and support the wider adoption of clean energy across India.”
Prateek Saxena, Founder and CEO, Hygge Energy, said, “We are pleased to announce our first partnership with one of India’s digital consumer lenders, Fibe. By integrating Fibe’s financing capabilities with our Canadian-developed digital infrastructure for India’s rooftop solar market, we aim to demonstrate asset tokenisation and loan financing, bringing together digital finance and clean energy.”
