Fest Group (Feston SEV Pvt. Ltd.) Enters BESS Segment, Sets Up 3 GWh Manufacturing Capacity

Fest Group (Feston S.E.V) has entered the BESS market with a planned 3-GWh manufacturing capacity and signed an MoU with Light Mechanics for a prismatic battery pack assembly line. The move signals a shift towards integrated solar, storage and power electronics as demand rises across C&I and residential segments.

Feston SEV Pvt. Ltd., a solar inverter and power electronics company operating under Fest Group,  has announced its foray into the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) segment.

The move expands the company’s portfolio beyond standalone inverters to include integrated solar, storage, and power-electronics solutions.

The company has initiated its BESS manufacturing journey with a planned annual production capacity of 3 GWh. Its product portfolio will span from 5 kWh systems designed for residential users to large 5 MWh containerised solutions targeted at commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.

As part of its entry strategy, Feston has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Light Mechanics Pvt. Ltd. The partnership will cover the design, supply, and commissioning of a prismatic battery pack assembly line. Once operational, the facility is expected to strengthen Feston’s in-house manufacturing and system integration capabilities in the BESS space.

Across both C&I and residential segments, energy consumers are now seeking systems that can better align generation with consumption patterns while ensuring more predictable power availability. This shift in user expectation is creating a fertile ground for BESS adoption.

Commenting on the development, Sampath Kumar, CEO of Fest Group (Feston SEV Pvt. Ltd.), said, "The requirement today is moving beyond generation to how energy is managed across time. Across both C&I and residential segments, storage is becoming central to improving reliability and aligning energy usage with demand.”

The development also reflects a broader industry trend, wherein inverters are evolving from simple power conversion devices into advanced control systems that manage energy flows between solar generation, battery storage, and the grid. This technological shift is driving demand for integrated offerings that combine generation, storage, and power electronics within a single system architecture.

Market analysts expect India’s energy storage market to witness accelerated growth in the coming years, supported by policy push, round-the-clock clean energy tenders, and rising adoption across industrial and distributed generation segments.

Fest Group's (Feston SEV Pvt. Ltd.) entry into BESS positions it to participate in this next phase of the energy transition, where system-level integration is expected to play a defining role, the company stated.
