Farmson Basic Drugs Pvt. Ltd., a prominent player in India’s pharmaceutical industry, has partnered with Schneider Electric to launch a comprehensive sustainability transformation initiative under the latter’s flagship Green Yodha campaign.
The collaboration, which began in February 2025, aims to embed climate action and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles deep into Farmson’s operations, positioning the company as a sustainability leader in the pharma sector.
As part of this partnership, Schneider Electric will provide its end-to-end Sustainability Business solutions to help Farmson build a robust roadmap for decarbonisation and ESG alignment. This will include creating an exhaustive inventory of Farmson’s greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 categories, aligning emissions reduction targets with the global Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and guiding the company’s reporting under the CDP Climate Change framework. The initiative will also include co-developing a long-term ESG strategy tailored to Farmson’s operations and goals.
To bring transparency and efficiency to this journey, Schneider Electric will implement its digital platform, Resource Advisor, across Farmson’s facilities. This platform will enable real-time tracking and monitoring of environmental indicators such as energy consumption, water usage, and emissions—providing data-driven insights to support decision-making and ESG reporting.
Additionally, Farmson’s three manufacturing sites will undergo detailed energy and water maturity assessments to identify opportunities for reducing emissions and conserving resources. A key focus will be on increasing the use of renewable energy and enhancing operational efficiency, with a clearly defined plan for investments and measurable returns. The initiative is expected to result in both environmental benefits and cost savings, while setting a new benchmark for climate leadership in the pharma space.
Commenting on the collaboration, Deepak Sharma, Zone President – Greater India and MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India, said that the partnership reflects Schneider’s commitment to providing industries with practical, data-driven pathways to sustainability. He highlighted that the company’s expertise in climate strategy and digital transformation would enable Farmson to convert its green goals into measurable outcomes, driving growth, resilience, and long-term value.
Vinit Menon, CEO of Farmson, echoed this sentiment, stating that as a company operating in a resource-intensive sector, there is an urgent need to balance environmental responsibility with business performance. He noted that Schneider Electric brings structure and clarity to the complex challenge of sustainability, offering the tools and expertise needed to reduce emissions, optimise energy and water use, and align with international standards.
The project is slated for completion by October 2025, and is expected to create significant impact, both environmentally and economically. The collaboration between Farmson and Schneider Electric stands as a model of how digital innovation and strategic consulting can work hand-in-hand to drive India’s green transformation.
