Everest Industries to Procure 3 MWp Solar Power from Enerparc’s 15 MWp Plant in Tamil Nadu

Everest Industries will procure 3 MWp solar power for its Podanur plant in Coimbatore from Enerparc’s 15 MWp solar project, under a group captive mode. The company has approved an investment of INR 1.065 crore in the SPV Enerparc Solar Power 10.

Everest Industries will procure 3 MWp solar power for its plant located in Podanur, Coimbatore, under a group captive policy from the 15 MWp solar plant of Enerparc.

The company’s Board of Directors recently approved an investment of INR 1.065 crore in Enerparc Solar Power 10, a project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV), through the acquisition of 10,65,000 equity shares at a face value of INR 10 per share.

This represents 5.31 percent of the equity shareholding of Enerparc Solar Power 10 and 26 percent of the company's share of 3 MWp out of the total capacity of 15 MWp, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

“The purpose of acquiring shares is to avail Captive Open Access for Solar Energy and thereby increase the company's utilisation of renewable energy in the state of Tamil Nadu,” it said.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by November 30, 2025.

According the the company Annual Report for FY 2023-24, the company has installed solar projects of about 2,800 kW. During the year, the company has successfully commissioned a 700 kWp solar power plant at Narmada works, located in Dahej, Gujarat, which generated approximately 42 percent of the total requirement of the plant.

At Lakhmapur works in Maharashtra, a captive 1,100 kWp solar power plant generated approximately 11 percent of the total requirement of the plant. “During the current financial year at Somnathpur works, in Odisha, a captive 500 kWp solar power plant was installed in March 2024,” it said.
