EV Plant and Battery Manufacturing Plant to Establish in Pune and Aurangabad, Says Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde

Shinde added the EV and battery manufacturing units will come up with an investment of INR 12,482 crore.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated electric vehicle facility and an EV battery manufacturing unit in Pune and Aurangabad are among INR 40,000 crore worth of projects approved by the state government.

Shinde said the EV and battery manufacturing units will come up with an investment of INR 12,482 crore.

He added a private company, Gogora India Pvt Ltd, will install 12,000 battery-swapping stations across the state in the subsequent few years.

The Government of Maharashtra approved an Electric Vehicles and batteries manufacturing project for Pune and Aurangabad. The government has also approved an electric and hydrogen fuel-operated bus manufacturing project for Pune.

Under this project, Gogoro India Pvt Ltd a subsidiary company of a Taiwan-based Gogoro company will invest Rs 12,482 Crore to establish an EV and Battery production project in Pune and Aurangabad.

The company will establish 12,000 battery-swapping centers throughout Maharashtra and they have been approved to construct the infrastructure for the same. 

The government has also sanctioned another project worth INR 776 Crore for Pune.
