Electric mobility solutions provider ETO Motors has joined hands with BSES and Tata Power DDL to set up around 2,000 to 3,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the next 2-3 years across the Delhi-NCR region.
The company has already set up over 30 MWs of EV charging infrastructure across the country and is looking at a horizon of 5 years to set up over 10,000 EV chargers in the region.
The company has been empanelled by the power distribution companies (Discoms) of Delhi, namely BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna and Tata Power DDL for the installation of subsidized EV chargers for 3 years through a tender floated by BSES Rajdhani on behalf of 3 Discoms’ in July last year.
Commenting on the development, N.K. Rawal, Managing Director and CEO of ETO Motors, said “ETO Motors is delighted to contribute towards the National Capital’s move towards electric mobility, by being one of the empaneled players in this initiative by BSES and Tata Power DDL, which would be pivotal in ushering in the EV ecosystem.”
The Delhi Government has decided to set up a single-window facility and empanel vendors through Discoms’ for the smooth rollout of EV chargers in private and semi-public places.
The single window facility will enable the consumers to compare costs and features of different chargers on the Discom websites, order a charger and schedule its installation through a single call or an online order.
Besides, the Government of NCTD would also provide a subsidy of up to Rs 6,000 per charging point, for the first 30,000 charging stations.
As an empaneled vendor, the Hyderabad-based electric mobility solutions provider will set up EV chargers at semi-public sites like Malls, Offices, Colleges and privately owned spaces such as residential and apartment complexes.
