Hyderabad-based ETO Motors signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to introduce electric three-wheelers fully operated by women drivers, improving connectivity in Amaravati.
The initiative aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s vision to develop Amaravati as a model sustainable capital. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu inaugurated the APCRDA headquarters and unveiled several initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and connectivity across the Capital Region.
The Chief Minister lauded ETO Motors for its focus on women empowerment and inclusive development. “These women drivers will ferry passengers from nearby villages to the Capital Region, becoming financially independent and contributing to a cleaner, greener Amaravati,” he said.
Rajeev YSR, Chief Marketing Officer of ETO Motors, highlighted the company’s multimodal approach, saying, “With a unified ticketing system, passengers can seamlessly travel across three-wheelers, buses, and cars for first-mile, middle-mile, and last-mile connectivity. Our fully electric fleet will connect Gannavaram Airport, Vijayawada, Amaravati, and Guntur through sustainable transportation," he said.
In its first phase, ETO Motors plans to deploy 300 electric three-wheelers, 100 electric cars, and 20 electric shuttle buses. The programme aims not only to improve last-mile connectivity but also to foster employment and micro-entrepreneurship opportunities for women and marginalised communities.
ETO Motors expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Minister for MA&UD P. Narayana Garu, and Kannababu IAS, Commissioner, APCRDA, for their guidance and support.
Representatives present included Bhaskar Ponnapula, Director, ETO Group, Preethi Belinda Jasti, Vice President, Operations, and Nirmal, President ETO Motors.
