Essar Power Appoints Ankur Kumar as CEO, Aims for Green Energy Transition

Essar Power has named Ankur Kumar as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With a vision to steer Essar towards a greener future, Ankur will work closely with the Essar Power Board and Leadership Team to facilitate a sustainable ecosystem for renewable energy in India.
Ankur Kumar brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over 24 years, primarily in the fields of renewable energy and public infrastructure. Noteworthy among his achievements are his roles as COO of ACME Solar Holdings Pvt. Ltd. and his contributions as a key member of the leadership team at TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis Co. Ltd. During his tenure, Ankur Kumar demonstrated his proficiency in leading green hydrogen and ammonia businesses.
His expertise extends across the entire spectrum of project development, from initial bidding to engineering, procurement, execution, and ongoing operation and maintenance, encompassing various solar, wind, and hybrid projects.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, Ankur holds an MBA in finance and strategy. He also obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from Delhi University, further supporting his credentials in the field of business and finance.
