Envision Energy India has secured an order of 300 MW from UPC Renewables India for supply of 60 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) of EN 182|5 MW Turbine Platform.

UPC Renewables India would deploy these 5 MW high performance smart wind turbines in its upcoming projects in Karnataka. Definitive Agreements for supply of the first 20 WTG is already completed for delivery early next year, for a contracted capacity of 100 MW that UPC Renewables has signed up with SJVN for power delivery in Jan 2027.

The 60 WTGs of EN 182|5 MW Turbine Platform will harness strong monsoonal wind patterns and favourable terrain in Bijapur, Karnataka to deliver about 900 million units of renewable energy annually.

RPV Prasad, MD, Envision Energy India, said, “We are proud to announce our collaboration with UPC Renewables India, having been selected as their strategic partner for the 300 MW wind farm in Karnataka. This partnership marks a milestone in our ongoing efforts to advance large-scale industrial decarbonisation and promote sustainable energy development across India. Envision’s EN 182|5 MW smart wind turbines are based on 182-metre rotor diameter, hub height of 140-metre and is an ideal configuration for wind and site conditions in India. This 5 MW turbine platform has a proven performance in booming markets of MENA region, Southeast Asia and China. The EN 182|5 MW smart wind turbine offers an enhanced Annual Energy Output (AEP) of over 40 percent compared to the current 3.3 MW platform, delivering the lowest Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE). The EN 182|5 MW wind turbine platform enables optimised land use by requiring fewer land parcels, thereby reducing right-of-way acquisition challenges.

Alok Nigam, CEO, UPC Renewables India, said, “I am excited to commence construction on our first wind project on the UPC Renewables India platform. This flag-off for the first 100 MW is a very important development for us, as we pick up momentum to deliver more than 500 MW of wind in the State of Karnataka over the next three years. We have partnered with Envision Energy India to kick-start this crucial journey placing our trust in their established track record of quality delivery.”
