Energetica Brings REconnect to Guwahati on June 25 to Highlight Northeast India’s Clean Energy Growth
Under the theme 'Accelerating Northeast India’s Clean Energy Transition Through Solar, Storage and Energy Access', REconnect Summit North-East 2026 in Guwahati will bring together key stakeholders from across the RE ecosystem to explore the region's growing role in India's energy transition and its emergence as a new frontier for clean energy investment

The inaugural North-East edition of the REconnect Summit, organised by Energetica India Magazine, is scheduled to be held on June 25, 2026, at Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati, Assam. Marking the first time that Energetica is hosting REconnect in North-East India, the summit will focus on unlocking the vast renewable energy potential of the region and accelerating its integration into India's broader clean energy growth story.
With abundant solar resources, significant hydropower potential, increasing policy support, improving transmission connectivity and a growing focus on energy access, Northeast India is emerging as a strategic destination for renewable energy development. Assam, in particular, is positioning itself as a gateway for clean energy investments in the region through industrial development initiatives, infrastructure expansion and efforts to attract manufacturing investments.
Assam Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2025 have set an ambitious target of 11,700 MW of RE capacity by FY30. This policy offers a strong incentive framework, including concessional land allotment with long-term leases, exemptions from transmission charges, wheeling charges, electricity duty and cross-subsidy surcharges.
The policy also provides financial support for manufacturers of solar panels, batteries, wind equipment and electrolysers. Green hydrogen developers are eligible for 100 percent SGST reimbursement and capital subsidies on electrolysers.
Further, the Assam Solar Power Promotion Policy 2025 targets 3,500 MW of solar capacity by March 2030 across ground-mounted, floating and rooftop projects, along with BESS, and allows the state government to hold up to 27 percent equity in projects.
Further, Japan’s proposed investment in Assam’s semiconductor manufacturing and innovation ecosystem is expected to create new opportunities for clean energy deployment, energy storage solutions and sustainable industrial growth. These developments are likely to increase demand for reliable renewable power while strengthening the case for establishing local renewable energy supply chains and manufacturing capabilities.
Designed as a full-day forum, REconnect North-East 2026 will bring together policymakers, state nodal agencies, DISCOMs, developers, EPC companies, manufacturers, investors, and technology providers to discuss pathways for accelerating renewable energy adoption across the North-Eastern states.
Dr. Jaideep Baruah, Director, Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) and Director, Assam Energy Development Agency (AEDA), will be the Guest of Honour. Through his keynote address, he will emphasise the role of policy and regulations clarity in fostering renewable energy projects development by boosting investors’ confidence and helping RE and BESS expansion in the state.
The summit has garnered support from prominent industry players, including Adani Solar, Solis, Feston S.E.V. Technologies, Joint Solar, Zuvay Technologies, Gautam Solar, Pom Systems and Services (POM Power), Oswal Solar, Pahal Solar, Cosmic PV Power, Anand E-Beam Cables, ADM Solar, iTorrent Industries, True Power Ltd. and Aimbeez Energia. Pan India Solar Sector Association (PISSA) and North East Region Renewable Energy Developers Association (NERREDA) are the industry association partners for the event.
Featuring high-level panel discussions, expert presentations and focused networking opportunities, REconnect North-East 2026 will examine critical issues shaping the region's clean energy future, including rooftop solar deployment, domestic manufacturing opportunities, energy storage adoption and improving energy access in remote and underserved areas.
The discussions during the event will revolve around:
