While addressing the gathering at the expo, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, "I urge IEEMA to facilitate new programs and initiatives in small cities of north-eastern India including the likes of Jabalpur among others. When it comes to the Indian electrical industry, we've already done exports amounting to 10 million dollars and now aim to reach the 25-million-dollar mark in the future. With an acceleration in global efforts towards creating a sustainable future, I recommend the US and UK to exhibit events akin to ELECRAMA 2023 to contribute more efficiently towards the world's sustainability needs. With this year's edition of ELECRAMA focusing on reimagining energy for a sustainable future, I would like to stress on the need for quality over quantity, not only as our way of life but also as a defining factor for the future of this ever-growing industry."

Speaking on the occasion, REC CMD Vivek Kumar Dewangan congratulated the organizers of ELECRAMA for having organized the event which has brought all the stakeholders in the entire power sector value chain and all manufacturers on a common platform. “Since India is chairing the G-20 Presidency this year and energy transition has become the focal point, this event is showcasing India's potential and leadership role in the energy transition which is taking place globally”, he said.

The flagship showcase of the Indian electrical and electronics industry offered an abundance of prospects in innovation and emerging technologies, sustainability via energy conservation, new business opportunities, supply chains and start-up ecosystems. These topics were covered in various co-located events that included World Utility Summit, ETechnxt and BuildElec.

Talking about the need for events like the World Utility Summit, Alok Kumar, Secretary, Minister of Power said, "In the world of technological advancements, our dependence, both as citizens and as an industry, on utility across sectors continues to increase. Today, electricity has emerged as an integral contributor to the development of a nation and also our daily lives. Thus, the need for new technology and ideas to transform energy for a more sustainable future has become imperative. Amid an increasing percentage of global energy consumption, I feel the 4th edition of WUS will provide us with the much-needed platform to brainstorm and deliberate on a future roadmap for a sustainable transformation of utilities."

Vikram Gandotra, Chairman, World Utility Summit (WUS) added, "In what was initially conceptualized to enhance communication between Utilities and other stakeholders, WUS has come a long way to carve its niche as one of the vital platforms where the global utility leaders continually engage in dialogue and exchange information. And, this year's edition is no different. With regulators, technology providers, consultants, government bodies and utility leaders all under one roof, the WUS continues to deliver on its mission of facilitating fruitful conversations that will help shape the future roadmap of utilities. Having representations from different countries this year, we, over the next two days, will deliberate upon 6 critical themes covering key utilities."

Held on the Day 3 of ELECRAMA 2023, the 4th edition of World Utility Summit (WUS) served as a global forum for utilities to deliberate changes and brainstorm probable ideas and solutions to negate future challenges. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Alok Kumar, Secretary, Minister of Power and Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA along with Rohit Pathak, President, IEEMA.

Talking about ELECRAMA, Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA, said, "Over the years, ELECRAMA continues to stress on the need for smart grids. When electricity was recasted in 2003, we focussed primarily on three core areas - generation, transmission and distribution. But, today, given the climate change challenges and ever-increasing consumption of energy, there is an imminent need for smart solutions. The 15th edition of ELECRAMA, with over 1000 stalls and 70 percent of the products made in India, is not only pushing us in the direction of sustainability but also contributing to the economic growth of the country. Amid the changing market trends and challenges to innovation across sectors, we, going forward, must nurture India's startup ecosystem and inspire youngsters to accelerate the energy transformation process."

Rohit Pathak, President of IEEMA, added, "The electricity ecosystem is undergoing an unprecedented transformation with the proliferation of renewables, distributed generation of resources and electric vehicles on one side and consumer activism and regulatory pressures on other. That's why we need sustainable transformation of utilities which is also the theme of this year's summit. At the behest of WUS, we're trying to bring thought leaders across the world to deliberate the preparedness of utilities to deal with the transformational changes."
Graced by the presence of various dignitaries, ELECRAMA 2023 had dedicated pavilions on renewable energy, railways and small & medium enterprises. It had Schneider Electric as its sustainability theme partner.

Jean Pascal Tricoire, Global CEO, Schneider Electric said, “We, at Schneider Electric, consistently strive to identify future challenges and find probable solutions in our persistent bid to contribute to the electrical industry.
