Elan Energy has secured the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for 16 Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).

The order, valued at around INR 300 million, will see new facilities established in multiple states to convert agricultural residue, municipal solid waste (MSW), and biomass into clean fuel.

The initiative is part of India’s Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) programme, aimed at expanding the nation’s bioenergy footprint and generating rural economic opportunities.

According to the company, BPCL’s rigorous selection process focused on proven expertise in delivering high-value energy infrastructure, advanced engineering capabilities, and sustainability credentials. Elan Energy’s track record in executing large-scale CBG projects positioned it as the preferred partner.

As PMC, Elan Energy will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, from engineering design and vendor tendering to execution supervision, commissioning, performance guarantees, and operational readiness. By ensuring consistent quality and timely execution across all sites, the company will help establish one of India’s most extensive CBG production networks, contributing to reduced fossil fuel dependency and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
