Trigeneration is a globally-proven technologythat simultaneously creates three energy sources - electricity, heat and cooling – through an engine generator that is powered by fuels like natural gas, oil and biomass. CHP is a popular and commercially viable model, and can be can be installed in an industry’s facility, commercial building, district energy or utility resource, thereby reducing the energy consumer’s electricity costs, enabling reliable power supply due to captive generation, and nullifying the need for investments in centralised cooling equipment and hot water boilers.Industries and commercial buildings that require 24x7 supply of electricity, heating and cooling can expect to derive the most benefit from trigeneration technology

With over 30 years of operational experience, an annual turnover of £100 million (INR 896 crore), Edina offers installation and maintenance services for this technology to over 400 customers, offering bespoke containerized solutions that reduce customers’ energy costs and carbon emissions. Using advanced real-time remote monitoring telematics and system management efficiencies, the company also provides continuous and reliable power supply from sites in the UK, Ireland and Australia and is the sole distributor of MWM gas engines in the UK and Ireland, and of Perkins diesel engines in Ireland. Edina’s engineering, project management and commissioning teams ensure seamless integration to site infrastructure, realising the strategic objectives of the power generation project whilst maximising the return on client investment.

EESL aims to leverage Edina’s unique award-winning approach with its own proven innovative business models to driveadoption of trigeneration technology, and transformation ofthe CHP market, in India. EESL has already signed Memorandum of Understanding for trigeneration projects with industriesin India, and is conducting audits in several hotels, hospitals, industries and airports across India to identify the feasibility and intervention potential of trigeneration and CHP systems.

With a proven track record of forging new frontiers in the global energy efficiency services markets, EESL is implementing a global strategy and commitment to invest £150 million (INR 1,343 crore) through EPAL into energy services business opportunities in the UK, EU and North America between 2017 and 2019.

Energy efficiency initiatives being implemented by EESL have cumulatively led to energy savings of over 41 billion kWh and a reduction of over 32 million tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the globe.
