Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty Assumes Additional Charge as IREDA CMD

Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) at IREDA, has been given additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA for a period of three months following the retirement of Pradip Kumar Das.

Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), IREDA, has assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA). He takes over from Pradip Kumar Das, who superannuated as CMD, IREDA, on June 30.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has given him the additional charge for three months, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.

Dr. Mohanty has been serving as Director (Finance) of IREDA since October 12, 2023, and as the company's Chief Financial Officer since October 16, 2023. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce along with master's degrees in Philosophy (Commerce) and Public Administration from Utkal University, Odisha. He also holds a master's degree in commerce from Delhi University, a Bachelor of Law from Utkal University, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Commerce from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar.

Before joining IREDA, he headed the Smart Metering Division at REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) and served as Senior General Manager (Finance and Accounts) at REC.

With over 27 years of experience across IREDA, REC, CESCO and GRIDCO, Dr. Mohanty brings rich experience in project financing, renewable energy and power sector development, stated IREDA.
