As a part of DNV GL’s work in India an Offshore Wind Energy training course has been set up to assist professionals working in,and new to,the wind energy industry in India.
The first course will run in September, in Delhi, and will give participants a comprehensive overview of the subject, whilst explaining the latest technology and issues. offshore wind resource, wind turbine and support structure technology, electrical issues and administrative processes are also covered.
The training is directed toward developers, lenders, network operators and regulators, turbine suppliers, Balance of Plant contractors and other professionals who wish to benefit from DNV GL’s technical and commercial knowledge of the field.
“Offshore wind presents many challenges, but the potential rewards are great”, said Mathias Steck, Sr. VP & Regional Manager, Asia Pacific Energy & Renewables Advisory for DNV GL. “There is a lot to learn from the European experience in offshore wind, but there are also uniquely Indian challenges and opportunities to consider.”
