Deye Unveils High Voltage Hybrid Inverter Series for C&I Sector

Deye’s hybrid inverter has various features aimed at reducing energy costs, improving energy resilience, and maximising solar utilisation.

Ningbo Deye Technology Co., Ltd. has launched a comprehensive range of high-voltage hybrid inverters, with capacities ranging from 29.9kW to 80kW.

Designed for long-duration energy storage and advanced grid interaction, these hybrid inverters are optimised to work with Deye’s high-voltage lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) batteries, built on a non-flammable, non-explosive chemistry with a lifecycle of ~6000 cycles at recommended charge/discharge rates.

The inverters are compatible with battery voltage inputs from 160V to 1000V, and are designed to deliver uninterrupted, optimised power for industries such as manufacturing, commercial complexes, and institutional setups. A Battery Management Unit (BMU) within the battery racks ensures protection from over/under voltage, overcurrent, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring long-term operational safety and reliability.

Deye’s hybrid inverter has various features aimed at reducing energy costs, improving energy resilience, and maximising solar utilisation.

One of the standout functionalities is the 'Time of Use' mode, allowing users to define battery charging and discharging cycles based on electricity tariffs or demand, charging the batteries during off-peak hours using grid or diesel generators (DG), and discharging during peak times.

Deye’s inverter integrates seamlessly with existing diesel generators through its Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) capability. This ensures the load is always powered, especially during periods of low solar generation or when the battery’s State of Charge (SoC) is low. The system automatically signals the DG to start, power the load, and simultaneously recharge the batteries.

To address grid export limitations and optimise in-house energy usage, Deye’s hybrid inverters come equipped with multiple zero export configurations:

  • Zero Export to Load: Powers only backup loads without feeding excess power to the grid or home load.
  • Zero Export to CT: Powers backup and home loads while ensuring no energy is exported to the grid.
  • Zero Export Power: Total elimination of grid export, complying with strict utility regulations.

A 'Solar Sell' mode enables the export of surplus energy, if permitted, and includes Max Sell Power settings to control the quantity of energy sent to the grid.

With a focus on load optimisation, the inverter includes a Smart Load feature that powers heavy or inductive loads using only battery energy. The system intelligently activates these loads when battery SoC reaches 100 percent, and disconnects them at predefined lower limits.

For facilities with existing on-grid solar plants, AC Coupling is supported via the DG port, enabling retrofit and hybrid system operation. Power from the existing on-grid system can also be fed into the grid simultaneously with hybrid generation.

To help industries manage high energy bills and grid demand charges, Deye’s inverter includes a Grid Peak Shaving feature that limits power drawn from the grid based on predefined thresholds. During peak load, the system supplements the grid supply with solar or battery power.

Users can also customise the energy usage pattern with modes like:

  • Battery First: Prioritises charging batteries through solar first, then caters to the load.
  • Load First: Prioritises powering the load before charging batteries using solar, and switches to the grid as backup.
