Delhi is India’s EV Capital, Says CM Arvind Kejriwal

With the addition of 42 EV amenities, Delhi now has an overall 53 ultra-low-cost EV charging stations.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the cost of using electric vehicles in Delhi is the minimum throughout the nation, while emphasising that the city has become the country’s 'EV capital'.

With the addition of 42 EV amenities, Delhi now has an overall 53 ultra-low-cost EV charging stations.

Kejriwal stated besides reducing air pollution, the EV policy was devised by the city government as the “future belongs to electric vehicles”.

The optimum number of EV charging stations in the nation is in Delhi, Kejriwal expanded the city has one-third of the overall number of EV charging stations in India. There are considerably 4,646 EV charging points and 250 battery-swapping stations in Delhi.

He further added “If we look at the electric consumption of all the EVs across the country, as much as 55 percent of it takes place in Delhi alone. This means that more than half of the electric vehicles running across the country run in and around Delhi”.
